Jay Mohr vs. Cringe Humor On The Opie & Anthony Show 12-1-05 Jay Mohr recently took offense to the comments made about him (& that sham of a show known as Last Comic Standing) that were posted on the Cringe Humor Awful Comedy page over 2 years ago. Here's audio of Jay from the 12/1/05 Opie & Anthony Show: - CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD (2mb, .mp3) - And now Cringe Humor would like to make an official rebuttal: Where to begin? Cringe Humor stands by what we wrote about Jay Mohr and Last Comic Standing. Jay claims that because of him, we now know who Rich Vos, Dave Mordal, Bonnie McFarlane, & Alonzo Bodden are. He referenced how we attended a show containing the stars of LCS and pointed out the positive reviews we gave. That is true, we enjoyed the acts of Vos, Bonnie, & Mordal. We have never seen Alonzo live, but I will give Jay the benefit of the doubt. What Jay failed to mention is that we supported Vos LONG before Last Comic Standing came about. We even held a huge campaign to help Rich get votes when season 1 wrapped up. We attended the Carolines show that featured Vos, Mordal, & Cory Kahaney mainly to see Rich (who hooked us all up with comps.) We hadn't seen Rich perform live up until that point. There's misconception #1. We dubbed Jay a "network sellout" cause of how he let NBC walk all over him, and shamelessly promoted Barry Katz's other clients. He also let his close friends get fired by the network. Mind you others pretty much created the entire concept of Last Comic Standing. Mohr is NOTORIOUS for stealing & rehashing other comedians material. Everyone from Dice, Otto & George, Vos, Rick Shapiro, etc. I can't blame him fully though, this is a man who has other people write his premises, and he just fills in the blanks with punch lines and taglines. Yes folks, you can all now blame KP Anderson for Jay's horseshit act. Annie (aka BlueFlame) sent in her review of Jay for the Awful Comedy/Hacks page, and CH posted it because we fully agree. That's not a cop out at all, I stand behind everything posted on the site. I have dealt with FBI threats, legal threats, even physical threats because of it. Fuck 'em all - the internet is about voicing your opinions and Cringe is the only standup comedy page that isn't afraid to tell it like it is. I love how an absolute NOTHING like me can get under a performers skin so much that they have to bring it up on a radio show. I'm not looking for the attention by any means. They will go with the whole "well you've never been on stage, so what gives you the right..." defense, and that in itself makes me laugh. I guess all movie critics need to be film directors or actors. I guess all sports columnists need to be former athletes. According to them, a fan of the art like me isn't allowed to write what I want on MY site because I've never been up on stage. I will admit I am a nervous, somewhat introverted retard when up in front of a crowd. But I am not one to hide behind a keyboard. I confront the shit I start face-to-face. Todd Lynn even brought a gun with him to the CH Show, looking for an excuse to fuck me up. I gave Todd a chance to perform at the CH Show, and he silenced his few "forum critics" by doing great. I have no intentions of getting up on stage. I am happy putting together kick ass shows showcasing the clique of comedians we love. Everyone goes home satisfied after a CH event, and the majority returns the next month. As Anthony reads Jay's hack page write up, you can hear him & others in the studio cracking up. Jay bullies O&A into believing his 1 hour Comedy Central special was "exceptional," when it was loaded with more tired premises than a network sitcom. Anthony reads more comedians on the hacks page, and mentions Dat Phan. Mohr immediately blurts out "He's not a comic!" THEN WHY THE FUCK DID YOU PASS HIM OFF AS ONE AND ALLOW A NON COMIC TO WIN THE COMPETITION? Jay loses more credibility and states that Lisa Lampanelli is funny. Anthony reads our mention of how she's "Don Rickles with hideously misshapen breasts" and Jay serves up misconception #2 by sarcastically saying "Yeah, cause there's nothing funny about Don Rickles..." God bless Norton for defending CH by pointing out how we're not shitting on Rickles. Why would we shit on Rickles when we have him featured on the Cringe Humor Legends page? Mohr then calls us hack when Anthony reads that Lampanelli has "the sex appeal of Bea Arthur's rectum." Takes a hack to know a hack, Jay. Maybe if I had KP Anderson write it, would you then respect that line? Mohr wants to know what he did to warrant such an awful review, and once again forces O&A into agreeing that he's a good performer. Jeffrey Ross then chimed in and asked Jay why he would plug Cringe Humor then? Mohr defends himself again with the whole "then why would they give a Rich Vos, Dave Mordal, Bonnie McFarlane Show an A+...they came from a show I created, and then called me a network sellout" bullshit. Like we stated before, we went to see Vos. All performers were great, but Jay is now taking credit for their talent! Yes, LCS gave them a great chance to showcase themselves and landed them some great gigs. But the way Mohr is spinning it, he's taking credit for their successes when it was actually their own talents that got them to where they are. Jay takes credit for creating the show, when it was actually Peter Engel & another long time friend & writer. Looks like Jay is once again stealing from someone else! Jay resorts to calling me a fat bald fuck who has no talent, which hurts me 'cause I'm not bald. Fat yes, but I do have sexy blonde locks when styled. As for the talent comment, I guess I am like Barry Katz then, making $$$ off of the truly talented ones. Jeffrey Ross points out how the show was funny at the start, then comments on how season 3 was a train wreck. Ross suggested that Jay should have never agreed to season 3. Mohr defends himself by stating how NBC forced him into it, and how he couldn't tell the network no to a 25 episode order. Jay says he would have been out as the host, but what would you expect? This is a man who has no integrity for his career, and could care less about showcasing good standup. And now Opie enters the debate. He talks about my less than stellar appearance in studio, when "Club Soda Kenny interviewed him" which is actually the other way around, but I can understand being confused. And no Anthony, I never tried to read the news once. Opie goes on about how I trashed him on Cringe Humor, which is a fucking lie. After the show aired, everyone on the forum asked me what happened and all I posted was "I was thrown under a bus." How is that trashing Opie? Going into the interview I had no idea I was going to be portrayed as "the worst interviewer ever." I'll admit, my skills at interviewing suck ass. That is why Robert Kelly wanted me to host Full Metal Comedy because he know I would clam up, and become the target of many of the comedians there that night. That is perfectly fine with me, I can dish it out & take it. Erik "aka Sexbagel" contacted me asking if I would like to interview Club Soda Kenny on the air, after I traded emails with Kenny himself for several weeks, trying to do an interview just for Cringe Humor with him. Once again I had no idea I was going to be a character going into it, but they like to portray people however they see fit, and it does create GOOD radio. Once again, I know I suck at interviewing, I know I'm a nervous douche, so I'm not going to sit here & tell you all that I'm better at it then that day. I just had no indication prior to the appearance over how it would go down. Why would I trash Opie over it, when CH has supported the show loooooong before it was cancelled from terrestrial radio? Why would I dedicate my time to promoting O&A and the performers involved if I didn't like Opie? I've been a faithful listener & supporter of the show since late 1999, long before Jim Norton debuted on it. Norton asked Opie "Did he trash you on the website though?" which Opie replied with "fuck yeah he did." That's bullshit. Sure, some people voiced their displeasure over Opie on the forum, but unlike some O&A related sites, we allow people to voice their true opinions on the show. I ask ANYONE reading this to comb the entire site and read where I personally trashed Opie. "I never forgot that, he had some horrendous things to say." WHERE DID I FUCKING SAY THESE THINGS? Norton talks about how Cringe was originally JimNortonFans.com, and that's partly the truth. In Howard Stern-like fashion, Opie points out that the word "Cringe" came from his show, when they did the whole "Cringe Radio" style. Opie finishes it by saying "talk about ripping off." Anyone familiar with the site's history knows the original CringeHumor.COM was indeed an Opie & Anthony related forum. How can Cringe be accused of ripping off the show (Hoo Hoo Robin), when it stems from the show itself? I guess Wackbag is ripping the show off too, because "wackbag" is also a term from the show. Mohr states how he should be removed from the hacks page, because he is retired from standup comedy. I dunno about you, but I am sure many comedians are relieved to know their material is no longer in danger of being stolen. Opie feels that I trashed him, which we know is bullshit. This explains why the Cringe Humor Shows get no on air promotion unless someone like Fleaman calls in himself and does it. Forget the fact that every Cringe Humor Show is a WOW Sticker Stop and caters to the O&A fan base by featuring many of the shows performers. I can't even get the shows listed on FoundryMusic.com, and now I see why. I'm not going to sit here and say I am owed anything by the show, especially precious on air promotion. Now I know why though. So ends the soap opera drama involving this l'il ol' website. As for Jay Mohr claiming I'm a fat, bald, fuck, who doesn't get laid...I invite him and everyone else to come on down to the Cringe Humor Show @ The Laugh Factory NY, on December 8th (9pm - call 212 586 7829 ext. 1 for reservations) where I will introduce everyone to my lovely girlfriend, while they tussle my blonde locks.
